Suspension of Masses from November 5th

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement of a second national lockdown, we will not be able to celebrate Mass until at least December 2nd. However, we propose to open church for PRIVATE PRAYER ONLY at the following times, starting on Friday November 6th:

• Tuesdays from 10am to 11am (please note that there is no Mass on November 3rd as Fr Gregory is away).
• Fridays from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
• Sundays from 8.30am to 9.30am (this will enable you to pray in church if you wish before watching a live stream of Sunday Mass at home).

Church opening for prayer depends of course on steward availability as used seats still need sanitising! Again, we thank our stewards and cleaners for their hard and dedicated work in keeping us as safe as possible.

There is no need to book a place in church for private prayer. The booking line for Masses will be closed from Tuesday November 3rd and re-open on Wednesday December 2nd at 9.30am providing there has been no extension to the lockdown.

Funerals will continue but can only be attended by a maximum of 30 people and it is advised that only close friends and family attend. Social distancing should be maintained between people who do not live together or share a support bubble and stewarding is required.

Weddings will not be permitted to take place except in exceptional circumstances. We are awaiting advice regarding baptisms.

I will be saying Mass privately every day and you are welcome to let me have your Mass intentions as usual. Please send these by email or phone to the parish office or through the letterbox. We cannot meet parishioners inside the presbytery under the new legislation unfortunately.

God Bless you and keep you safe as we work together to banish this virus from our midst.
Fr. Gregory
