SICK CLERGY
Lent is a season also of prayer for various intentions. We might keep in mind several priests, more or less familiar to us, and needing our prayers. Father Stephen McGuiness has now retired from St John Ogilvie in Corby, leaving two full-time priests in the town, but also, thankfully, a number of retired priests able to help out. Father Joseph Pham, once with us as a student placement, has long-term ailments and is receiving treatment away from parish-life. We might specially pray for Father Damien Walne, parish priest of Great Billing (Northampton area) with its lovely shrine of Our Lady. Father Damien has been leading the diocesan Lourdes pilgrimage for many years, but is at present in hospital seriously unwell. We might ask the prayers of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour.
