IT CAN BE LONELY IN A CROWD
Our parish is large enough for people to be lost in the crowd. Newcomers, perhaps on their own, settle into the town, a new job – how can we welcome them? In the three small churches a new face is easily spotted. In St Edward’s it may hardly be noticed. One suggestion is to introduce yourself to one of the priests who can, if you wish, help you to get to know a fellow parishioner, or point out some of the societies, perhaps pay a home visit. Maybe you have other suggestions of how we can be aware of newcomers to our community and make them feel at home. Some may prefer relative seclusion, while others would love to be helped to feel more at home. We can individually, at least, keep ourselves aware of others and help where we can.
