Pastoral Notes 4th June, 2017

Father Pat RIP
One of our local priests, Monsignor Pat McAleenan, died 29th May in Kettering General Hospital. Aged 79, Father Pat retired as Parish Priest of Our Lady’s, Corby, where he served from 1983 to 2009. He served also as Vicar General of the Diocese, second-in-command to the Bishop, from 1990-2001. Prior to that he served in Bletchley, at St Edward’s Kettering, and Thrapston parishes, having moved into the diocese from the Carmelite Order. In these last years he helped out in many parishes of our Pastoral Area, including on occasion once more in Kettering. His funeral Mass will take place in Our Lady of Walsingham, Corby at 11.00am on Tuesday 13th June. His body will be received into the church at 7.00pm the previous evening followed by Mass. The Bishop will preside at the Funeral Mass. We offer our prayers for Father Pat: may he rest in peace. Condolences and prayers for all family members and friends.
