Pastoral Notes 3rd April, 2016

From Ash Wednesday, through Lent, the ‘alleluia’ was replaced by the quieter ‘glory and praise’ a more literal translation of ‘alleluia’ but not having the same ring of joyous triumph.  One of the saints wrote that while we are still pilgrims, travellers, the ‘alleluia’ is like the common song of people at work, working together, and being helped by a cheery song!  The Easter season now continues through to Pentecost inclusive.  In this time we will have our parish Mission – 14th to 19th May – with Pentecost Sunday being 15th May!  May it be a joyful time  of praise of God, of ‘alleluia’.
