Pastoral Notes 22nd November, 2016

At the close of the day …………..

Next weekend we begin a new Church Year. The tradition of singing the ‘Dies Irae’ is still an option in the Liturgy. But the following prayer of St Francis de Sales (1567-1622) is still a popular prayer at the end of the day.

“Do not anticipate what will happen tomorrow. The same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow and every day. Either he will shield you from suffering, or he will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace, then, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginings”.
