Pastoral Notes 22nd February 2015

In this season of Lent, we remember the year-round work of the SVP, meeting people’s practical and daily needs. The Saint Vincent De Paul Society is an international organisation founded in Paris in 1833. Membership is open to both men and women. Saint Vincent was born in France. He cared greatly about the poor and disadvantaged. The Society today is based on the same principles of befriending those at home or in Residential Care, providing transport and material assistance when requested. The Spiritual aspect and mutual support of the members is also very important. St Edward’s Conference meets every two weeks and new members are always welcome.
