Pastoral Notes 14th August, 2016

From Father Jo’s latest letter
Fr Jo’s prayer on International Refugee Day, 23rd June 2016. “Where two or three meet in my name, I shall be there with them”. (Matthew 18) “We gather not only to celebrate the international Refugees’ Day but to importantly pray for peace to prevail in the world, especially in the region of Africa. Let us first thank the Government of Uganda for storing in peace, a commodity which has led to settling the huge influx of refugees in Uganda, especially here in Kyangwali where we are hosting 42,500 refugees. Thank you, Lord, for the tireless gifts and selfless services offered by the individual organisations and at St Patrick’s Center. God, you revealed that those who work for peace will be called your children (Mt. 5:9). Help us and the human world to work without ceasing for Justice and Peace to enable humanity to settle in their respective families and countries. Thus, a halt to the refugees’ phenomenon in the world. Peace be with you always. Amen. Fr Jo ….”
