In whatever way, I do encourage you to take part in this major week of the Church’s year. We walk with Jesus and the disciples, we share with the crowd waving palms, and also in the supreme moment of the Last Supper, and the washing of our feet. The Old Testament contains the sharp lamentations of God’s people at the fall of Jerusalem and exile: the Church takes up those same laments, also with faith, experiencing the sorrow, but always with hope, as the whole Church seeks God’s salvation. The moving veneration of the Cross on Good Friday is followed by the relative silence and patient expectation of Holy Saturday, to be then turned to joy with the Light of Easter.
