Parish Forum Meeting 10th July 2014

The Forum:

  • heard that the response had been submitted to Bishop Peter on how the Pastoral Area would manage with two fewer priests.
  • welcomed Alan Adcock as our new Property Manager
  • sought volunteers to join the welcoming rota at St Edward’s for Saturday and Sunday evening Mass
  • was reminded that Vivien Caldwell was to be contacted if anyone had safeguarding concerns for a child; if any parishioner received a report from a child they were to LISTEN, RECORD and REFER the matter to her; work was ongoing to reduce the current backlog in DBS referrals.
  • heard that Rosemary Johnson had taken over as Chair of the Finance Committee,
  • considered how the cleanliness of the St Edward’s Hall kitchen was to be maintained now that it had been brought back up to an acceptable level.
  • had updates on ecumenical issues; from St Bernadette’s and St Nicholas Owen’s; on the work on the on-line parish archive; was encouraged to attend the NORES summer school.
