Diary of Events

This diary of events covers the Northamptonshire Roman Catholic Diocesan churches of St. Edward’s, Kettering; St. Bernadette’s, Rothwell; Holy Trinity, Desborough and St. Nicholas Owen, Burton Latimer. 1st Wednesday of each month. 6.30-8.30pm Spirituality Evenings at Nazareth Sisters Convent, 118 Harlestone Road (nr Dallaington Park) Northampton NN5 6AD. Sunday 4th, 10.30am. Parish Children's Choir singing at Mass

Sunday 11th, 2.00-5.00pm. An invitation to come and have tea with the Sisters in the convent garden at 131 Hawthorn Road.

Wednesday 14th, 6.00pm Confirmation Practice in St Edward’s Church

Thursday 15th, 7.30pm. The Sacrament of Confirmation takes place at St Edward’s Church.

Thursday 15th, 2.00pm The Rosary Group meet at St Nicholas Owen.

Monday 19th, 8.10pm. Parish Forum meeting in St. Edward's Church Hall

Tuesday-Friday 27-30 July. NORES Summer School 2010 – A Missionary Church. This non-residential summer school will explore the missionary nature of the Church and its implications for pastoral work today. The sessions would be useful for anyone who is seeking to grow in and share the gift of faith. They would be particularly useful for those who are interested in, or currently involved in catechesis, evangelisation, RCIA or any form of Christian formation or leadership. Speakers include: Fr Pat Collins CM, Maria Heath, Paul Bickley, Charles Whitehead, Alex Heath, Margaret Duncan, Eustace Constance (Street Pastors) and Barbara Wallace (Volunteering in Parishes). AUGUST 2010

Sunday 22nd. The Association of Our Lady of Mount Carmel will be holding a Rosary Rally for World Peace and Young People at Grace Dieu Manor, Leicestershire. The Rally will commence with Holy Mass at 3.00pm with a break for refreshments, picnic, etc. followed by the crowning of a statue of Our Lady, a procession with Rosary and hymns, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Blessing of the Sick, ending with Benediction. Please let one of the priests know if you are planning to go, they will let the organisers know numbers.

Saturday 18th. Canon John celebrates the 40th Anniversary of his Ordination.

16th-19th Visit of the Pope to the UK

Sunday 19th Pope Benedict’s Visit and Mass at Coventry 10.00am. Coach leaves 5.45am from London Road Car Park and returning at about 2.00pm. Places must be booked with Fr. Andy or Canon John - currently sign up list is at the back of church

Wednesday 22nd. 7.30pm Mass followed by a celebration event to mark Canon John's anniversary.

Sunday 26th. Fairtrade breakfast held in St. Edward's Church hall between the 2 morning Masses (approx 9.00-10.00am)
