Convent of Our Lady
The Sisters of Our Lady in England (also known internationally as the Sisters of Notre Dame) were called to England from Germany in 1933 to help establish what is now the flourishing parish of St. Augustine's in Hoddesdon, Herts. in the Diocese of Westminster. During the years between 1933 and 1954 the Sisters served the Church in various ministries in Wimbledon, Osterley, Cambridge and finally, Kettering.

The Sisters moved to Kettering to continue the work the Ursuline Sisters had begun in the Parish in 1938 but which unfortunately had to leave in 1954. Our Sisters kept on this Convent School until 1972 when our sisters too had to close the High School. The Prep. School was closed in 2003.

Our Sisters also taught in St.Edward's School, St.Thomas More School, St.Mary's School, the Becket School in Northampton and Our Lady & Pope John School in Corby.

Our charism is to Proclaim the Goodness of God and His Provident Care. To this end we endeavour to respond - as best we can - to the needs of God's People.

Currently we are engaged in the following ministries in Kettering and Hoddesdon:

  1. Ecumenical Outreach
  2. Direction of Religious Education in our Diocesan Schools
  3. Hospital Chaplaincy Services
  4. Sisters Bernadette, Anita and Therese
  5. Parish Catechetics
  6. Complementary Therapy Services
  7. Tutoring for Health and Education Services
  8. Bereavement Counselling
  9. Spiritual Direction
  10. Racial Equality Services
  11. Adult Spirituality
  12. Last, but not least - Singing in the Choir !
