Eucharistic Ministers

It is over a year since Eucharistic Ministers were needed for our church services, now, however, we must be prepared for when the normal number of masses resumes and church attendance increases. Please would all Eucharistic Ministers send their name to me as soon as possible if you are prepared to continue your ministry in the church, in the hospital and also in the homes of those who are housebound.

We need to know which Eucharistic ministers are happy to return to their ministry and those who wish to retire from the Eucharistic ministry. Please send me your decision to the parish email parish@stedwardskettering.org.uk as soon as possible so that our records can be updated.

Wednesday Masses in the Hospital Chapel

On Wednesday 19th May, we will start celebrating Masses in the hospital. They will be held in the chapel at Kettering General Hospital every Wednesday at 10.00 am. We would especially like to invite the hospital staff and patients to these morning prayers.

Changes to Booking for Mass from Tuesday May 25th

As the country is gradually easing restrictions, St. Edward’s is going to trial not needing to book for Tuesday Masses.  Additionally we are adding an extra Mass on Tuesday evenings at 7pm. for people at work during the day who cannot attend the 10am. Mass. We would like to increase the number of weekday masses available but have unfortunately been unable to find the required number of Stewards.

Whilst social distancing is in place there is still a need to book for the weekend Masses as, for your safety, we try to maximise the seating capacity at these increasingly full Masses (all are full this weekend).  If you can go to weekday Masses instead, that would help to ease the pressure on weekend masses and ensure that more parishioners get the opportunity to attend. This is suggested by the Catholic Bishops.

The weekly schedule will be as follows from Tuesday May 25th.

Walk-in Masses

  • Tuesday 10am
  • Tuesday 7pm

Book Masses

  • Friday 7pm
  • Saturday 6.30pm
  • Sunday 8.30am
  • Sunday 10.30 am
